American star Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has revealed he will play Sylvester Stallone’s sidekick in new action blockbuster The Tomb. "It’s cool, it’s a really cool project"
Mr Jackson, 36, revealed he will play Mr Stallone’s right-hand man, a reformed cyber criminal, in the 2013 blockbuster and is relishing the chance to work alongside the veteran after passing up a role in The Expendables in 2010.
He said: “I’m Mr Stallone’s assistant. It’s going to be cool.
“I play a computer expert who has been incarcerated in the past for cybercrimes, and I work for Stallone’s character now as he goes in and out of the different systems. It’s cool, it’s a really cool project.
“When I read it for the first time I was really excited about it.”
Mr Jackson added: “I was actually going to be a part of The Expendables. I would have played Terry Crews’s role in that but I had an album that was coming out in the same period and a fragrance launch and a lot of other things I had lined up. It was interesting the way it went down.
“I didn’t try to get involved in the sequel. I already had this picture (The Tomb) lined up and I was a fan of this script.”
Mr Jackson, who found fame in 2003 with his breakthrough hip-hop album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, is happy combining his acting and rapping careers.
“I love both of them,” said the New Yorker.
“In film, I have had moments where I just got a chance to appreciate it from a fan’s perspective and I developed a passion for it and wanted to be a part of different things.”
