Nollywood Stars Mama Gee And Desmond Elliott In Zambia

CELEBRATED Nigerian Nollywood stars Desmond Elliott and Patience Ozokwor are expected in the country this weekend to interact with their Zambian fans.
The movie stars will be accompanied by the famous reality show Big Brother Africa presenter IK (IK Osakioduwa).
Multichoice Zambia Public relations manager, Marlon Kananda confirmed the arrival of the trio.
According to the programme, he movie stars will today hold a number of radio and television interviews.
Tomorrow, the trio is expected to be at Manda Hill shopping Centre from 10:00 hours to 11:30 hours before moving to Arcades shopping center from 12:00 hours to 13:30 hours where autograph signing and picture sessions will be conducted.
Kananda said during the two events at Manda Hill and Arcades a lot of Africa Magic and DStv merchandises will be given out. He called upon Nigerian movie followers to turn up in numbers and meet their stars.
Before going to Manda Hill and Arcades, the Nollywood stars will visit Kabwata Orphanage at 09:00 hours to make a donation.
“So all the fans who would like to meet these Nollywood stars should come to the venues stated so that we can have some great fan,” Kananda said.
Desmond Elliot started playing roles in soap operas like Everyday People, One Too Much and Saints and Sinners. He is one of Nollywood’s leading actors having appeared in over 200 films including Men Who Cheat, Yahoo Millionaire and Atlanta.
In 2008 Desmond Elliot co-produced and co-directed the movie “Reloaded” which received three nominations at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2009. In 2009 and 2010, Desmond Elliot was nominated for the Best Actor category at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
Desmond Elliot has also been competing to become the ambassador for the Face of Hope Project, a “volunteer-based non-profit, non-religious, non-political organisation established to give hope to the hopeless”, in which he will work toward fixing “child illiteracy in Nigeria and Africa at large” if he is the victor.
Patience Uzokwor is a popular actress who plays the role of a wicked woman so well. In fact, many people find it difficult to separate her role in drama from her actions in real life.
Patience is one of Nollywood’s talented actress who has as revolutionised Nollywood screens with her compelling roles. She has featured in over 200 Nigerian movies. Popularly known as Mama G a name she earned from one of her hit movies Old School.
Patience is also a fashion designer and was once a broadcaster with Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Enugu, school teacher as well as an entrepreneur before venturing into the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Some of her movies include Good News, Terrible Sin, Heavy Storm, Act of Faith, Greedy Genius, Missing Child, After My Heart, Critical Truth, Female Lion, The Final Clash, Bottom of My Heart, Husband My Foot, Naked Wrestler, Plane Crash, Pretender, The Evil Queen, Area Mama, Emotional Crack, One Dollar, Evil Agenda, Indian Doctor, Legal War, Asunder, Peace Talk, Miracle, Old School and Private Sin.
Meanwhile, Bwalya Nawa, a Belgrade-born Zambian professional make-up artist and skin care specialist has been named as a make-up artist to cater for the duo.
The tall and rather slender Bwalya confirmed to the Weekend Mail in an interview and disclosed that the type of make-up she will be administering is Celebrity HDTV makeup, a rare kind in Zambia.
She also described the gesture as a great honour as it will further enhance her feat in the make-up industry.
“I am very happy to have been accorded such an enormous task. It is indeed a great honour and I am going to use it to enhance my development in this business,” she said.
Combining her flair and passion for stunning make-up with a professional approach and the attention to detail for which she is known, Bwalya has worked as a make-up artist in three movies; Free Runner, Lilith, Funsize, as well as Avengers.
